New Moon at Midnight

This post is coming a little late but....better late then never.

So for those of you that don’t know I really like twilight. The obsession started one year ago when I went with my sister to see the 1st movie. One month and four books later I was hooked. I find it’s a needed distraction from my all-to-busy life of being, mom, wife, grad student, social worker, prevention specialist and all of the other stuff that falls in between.
So a few of my friends got together and when to the midnight show, even my sister came out. Only in Roosevelt could you get to
the theater at 9:45 and be the 1st in line, but needless to say we got great seats. I had so much fun just being silly with a bunch of grown women. Here’s a few picture of our night. P.S. I’m still a member of team Edward but I enjoyed Jacob none the less.

Suzanne...crazy girl 9+ months pregnant & we saw the movie twice, but don't worry Heaton was born unharmed.

Just a GREAT day!

Saturday was such a great day! I forgot to take the camera so there are no pictures but I just had to tell you about it. We went to the mountain as a family to get a Christmas tree. It was a rare day for me I left my phone, my school work, and my house work at home and just enjoyed the day with all my boys. We laughed, sung and talked. We played in the snow and picked the perfect Christmas tree. Then on our ride down the mountain Ty and I curled up in the front seat and took a little nap. Being able to give my undivided attention to my family was so wonderful. I am ashamed to say this is something I don't do very often, but it truly renewed me. I am making it a goal to do this type of thing more often.

Our day at the temple!

What a great day this was. Our little family had been talking about going to the temple for so long (even before Dylon was born) and I couldn't believe that the day had really come. Before Dylon I knew that our family was missing someone and having him sealed to us made our family complete. Here's a few pictures form that day.
Ty and Dylon love each other so much and Ty was so happy to be able and keep Dylon as a brother forever.
Its past Dylon's nap time and it shows
I love this picture so I just had to share it!
Thanks Jed for all the great pictures!

Two of a Kind

Tyson 2005

Dylon 2009
One of the great things about having two boys is you can make the younger one were all your old favorites. That's what I did for Halloween this year and used the lion costume I made for Ty's first Halloween. Here's a picture of them both. I do have the cutest boys ever.

Here is what they both looked like this year right before going trick-or-treating. Ty was Batman, his very favorite superhero ever and Dylon was just trying to stay awake long enough to find a nice stranger that would give him a sucker.

Dylon Coy Berrett

It's official, Dylon is now a BERRETT. To recount...Dillan came into our home on December 16, 2008 at 12 days old as a foster baby. We have spent the last 10 months falling in love with this little boy. 6 weeks ago Dillan's birth mother relinquished her rights so that we could adopt him and his birth fathers rights were terminated. We then were able to start the adoption process and we went to court today and signed all the papers making him officially Dylon Coy Berrett. We are all so excited, especially Tyson, the judge even let him testify in court that he wanted to keep Dylon forever. Here are some picture of our day!

The Berretts with Jenny Dylons case worker (we love her so much)

Thank you to every one who played a part in getting us to this point and thanks to all the many people who have supported us along the way. We will be forever grateful to all of you!

Thanks part 7

What i am thankful for today is the foster care system. Working with Utah Foster Care Foundation and the Roosevelt DCFS has been a great experiences for me. I was so blessed to receive Dillan and get to know everyone that I have worked with as his foster mother. I am thankful that it looks like we will shortly be able to move to the next phase of this adventure...adoption.
To anyone that has ever thought about doing this I would say just make the commitment and do it, the experiences will bless your life and help you to learn and grow like nothing else ever will.

Thanks Part 6

Today I'm thankful that I am done with school for a few weeks and get to spend more time with my boys. I love Ty and Dillan so much and really do enjoy spending time with them having fun and not being distracted by all the other stuff I "should" be doing.

I'm thankful for my garden, it is starting to give us so much veggies and I love being able to go out there and pick the things I need for dinner. Scott's done most of the work but I think I get the bulk of the benefit.
